At the 5th Czech-Japan Tribology Workshop, we delivered both an invited lecture and a general presentation.
We had numerous new encounters in the Czech Republic! We are grateful for all the questions we received during the presentations.
Dates: October 20th (Monday) to 23rd (Thursday), 2025
Host Country: Czech Republic, Luhacovice
Venue: ALEXANDRIA Spa & Wellness Hotel
Invited Lecture
Title:
Introduction to the Lubrication Life Prediction Project at NSK
Lubrication Pentagon Theory for the Optimal Design of Rolling Bearings
Presenter:
Taisuke Maruyama
Overview:
To achieve both further reduction of torque and extended life of rolling bearings, NSK is deriving a theoretical formula to predict the time until oil film collapse in the EHD contacts (i.e., lubrication life). In this invited lecture, an overview of the lubrication life prediction project launched by NSK will be presented.
General Presentation
Title:
Application of Dielectric Spectroscopy to Lubricant Degradation Diagnosis
Presenter:
Shunsuke Iwase
Overview:
Dielectric spectroscopy is a method for evaluating the dynamics of polar molecules by analyzing the relaxation behavior of dipoles under an external electric field. This study investigates the dielectric relaxation behavior of oxidatively degraded lubricants and outlines a direction for its application to lubricant degradation diagnostics.
